Fuzzy Graphics Sometimes, especially with large documents (EHT's Newsleetter/Magazine) Graphics/photos may look a little fuzzy. This is because to open the large document in a quicker time the photos are compressed. If you are an AOL user, The AOL web browser includes some settings that may cause some of the pictures you are viewing to look fuzzy. AOL automatically compresses ANY picture you wish to see. The logic behind AOL’s decision is that most people care more about how long it takes for a page to load than the quality of the images. Top

I have a Mac computer and need to take my exam in the exam center. When using a Mac computer do NOT use Safari Browser. This is not compatible with our system. You must use firefox, navigator, or internet exporer. Top

VISTA: Warning POP UP messages when I put my CD in my computer (VISTA and others) Many security systems for computers, especially Vista, refered to as USER ACCESS CONTROL (UAC), and many other programs will flash a warning if the CD or even the DVD is not recognized as a Native or recognized entinty. Vista has a great Media Center and usually no problmes with autostarting DVDs… but CDs are a different story. VISTA security system will alert you when an unauthorized program tries running on your PC. This lets you control which programs have access to your computer. With it, you can stop malicious programs before they do any harm.W Unfortunately even if you know the program will not harm your system Vista will stop the instullation so when you put the CD into the computer a POP UP WINDOW appears asking to autoplay. Press Allow to activate the CD. Then you may get a POP UP message that says this may harm your computer. Do you want to continue. PRESS YES TO CONTINUE> This message is only displayed because Microsoft is telling you this is not a file Microsoft recognizes. You will click accept or allow (the cd will not harm your computer) then you may see a pop up message that says DO YOU WANT TO REINSTALL or WAS PROGRAM INSTALLED CORRECTLY. Clik the command that indicates the program was installed PROPERLY/CORRECTLY. Then the CD will play. These steps are a result of Microsoft due to the nature of CDs. Not due to EHT. NOTE: With CDs open the course by bypassing the AUTORUNPRO.exe. Vista is blocking the AUTORUNPRO.exe and therefor ethe videos will not display. You can open the video clip or the course by going to MY COMPUTER or COMPUTER (VISTA). Right Click and open the EXPLORE or OPEN command. Then click WELCOME. The course should begin to play. If after following this your CD still does not play refere to AUTOPlAY FAQ. Also look at VISTA SECURITY SYSTEM Top

VISTA SECURITY SYSTEM: I can't view course without the USER ACCESS CONTROL (UAC) activiating You could turn UAC on and off as you need it. To do this, go to the Control Panel, and select User Accounts. Then click User Accounts again. Then "Turn User Account Controls on or off" button. This is an option for less experienced users. But there is a big downside. You must reboot every time UAC is turned on or off. This takes a lot of time. In fact, it could be more annoying than the alerts themselves. More advanced users could turn UAC off permanently. This is done in the same manner as before - Control Panel >> User Accounts >> User Accounts >> Turn on or off. The risks This strips away one of Vista's security features. You will not receive warnings of downloads, even secret, malicious ones. If you go this route, be sure your security programs are updated. If you have numerous security programs on your site you will most likely be safe. Also always keep Vista updated. Rather than shut UAC down, There is another solution-TweakUAC. (SEE LINK BELOW) This free program allows you to put UAC into quiet mode. In quiet mode, User Account Control is still running. Plus, you can turn quiet mode on or off without rebooting. REMEMBER that VISTA UAC is for your protection. If you take away this feature or keep on quiet mode you will not be warned of potentially harmful activity. Not recommended but an option. Tweak Link Top

VISTA: MY CD and/or BASICS and BEYOND course will not play the videos but I can view the text. If you have a VISTA you may experience this situation. AUTORUNPRO.exe works but VISTA over-rides the program not allowing the Videos to display. Hence, video will not run when the couse is activated via AUTORUNPRO.exe. You will need to bypass AUTORUNPRO.exe by one of two ways: 1). Load your CD into the CD drive on your computer. When the command askes you to select either AUTORUNPRO.exe or GENERAL OPTION to view the folder, you will CHOOSE the GENERAL OPTIONS. Click on Welcome and begin viewing your course. 2). From the start menu click on COMPUTER. Go to the CD DRIVE and RIGHT CLICK THE CD ICON. From there open the EXPLORE or OPEN Command. Next click on WELCOME. Now you should be able to view the videos and/or your course. If you continue to have difficulty read VISTA, VISTA SECURITY SYSTEM. Top

Mozilla FireFox Browser won't let me access the CD movie. I get a solid background only If you put CD or DVD in your computer and you get a black or blue background with some words, but no movie screen and you are using Firefox you will need to bypass and open with explorer or add a plug-in. I will give you instructions for both: To open without installing a plug-in: 1. Put the CD into your computer 2. If it auto-plays "X" out or cancel that 3. Go to My Computer or Computer 4. Locate the DRIVE the CD is in and right click 5. A drop down menu will appear and find the word open 6. Locate the file NAMED "VIEW" 7. Right click that and locate the words "open with" 8. Then hover over Internet Explorer and left click 9. NOW your course will play. If you want to add the plugi-n please click on the following link: HERE Top

MAC (Apple) BASICS & BEYOND Autostart does not work on MAC. To view the course place the Basics and Beyond CD disc into the DVD/CD drive. Click on the CD icon on your Desktop. When that window opens click on the welcome.htm file. Basics and Beyond 2010 has been tested and works perfectly on MAC 10.5. Basics and Beyond 2010 movie clips are in FLASH not windows media. Top

ACTIVE X SECURITY and Basics and Beyond You may see this POP-UP message discussing security and Active X content "Active content can harm your computer or disclose personal information. Then you will see "What you should know about active content" and don't show this message again" We recommend you click the YES button and don’t show this message again to take full advantages of this CD.
