The sooner a patient with a non-musculoskeletal issue is referred to the correct practitioner, the sooner the patient will receive the best and most appropriate treatment. The first course in the Differential Diagnosis of the Spine series deals with understanding statistics to be able to utilize Clinical Prediction Rules for diagnosis and treatment. Red and Yellow Flags, History, system reviews and specific mandatory questions that must be asked in every history taken will be discussed. The first course in this series also gives the student an introduction to the Viscerogenic, Vasculogenic, Neurogenic, Psychogenic and Spondylogenic categories of diseases that can refer to the spine.
