Description:
This interactive course is in movie format. This is an intermediate course, filmed in an informal setting, that teaches the clinician how to evaluate and treat post surgical Dupuytren’s contracture release. The student will demonstrate an understanding of pre-operative evaluation. Surgical intervention is discussed. Treatment techniques for surgical management for release of contracture are discussed in detail. Newer research is introduced. The manual is long (65 pages if printed). Instructional methods include lecture and instructor demonstration. Note: This course provides conceptual preparation to seek additional training, and does not provide you a mentored hands-on skills session. Please seek additional experience, with a mentor, to perform hands-on skills. Upon Successful completion of the examination (75%) your certificate will be sent via email.
Objectives:
Student will review how to examine patients with Dupuytren’s Disease
Student will describe surgical treatment options for Dupuytren’s patients
Students will review how to treat Dupuytren’s Disease post-operatively
Student will review the splinting options for post-op Dupuytren’s release in detail
